Salt City Trucking in the Bell Gardens/Los Angeles area is hiring a Local CDL-A Intermodal Driver to join a dedicated operation with daily home time and a 5-day workweek. You will handle intermodal container freight across Los Angeles and Inland Empire, with preload and live freight.

Shifts include day and night options; no-touch freight, auto-dispatch, and routes spanning Long Beach, LA, Commerce, City of Industry, Bloomington, with occasional trips north to Shafter/Lebec.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Minimum 3 months verifiable CDL-A experience.
• First Seat / Experienced Driver.
• Clean driving record.
• DOT Medical Card.
• No SAP Drivers.
• Must be comfortable working day or night shifts.
• Auto-dispatch account experience preferred.
• Able to safely operate intermodal containers and chassis.
• Flexible with route assignments and freight demands.

Responsibilities

• Handle intermodal container freight across LA & Inland Empire.
• Operate on an auto-dispatch system with no driver route selection.
• Work preload and live freight with no-touch loads.
• Maintain safe operation within 11–14 hour driving windows.

Join a dedicated intermodal operation in the Bell Gardens/Los Angeles area offering daily home time, a 5-day workweek, and day or night shift options. Drivers handle container freight across the Los Angeles and Inland Empire areas, with a mix of preload and live freight.

Pay Details

• Average Weekly Pay: $1,400-$1,800
• $19.25 per hour
• $18.71 per stop
• No short-haul pay
• No bonus offered
• Optional extra workdays for additional earning opportunities

Job Details

• Home daily
• 5-day workweek
• Intermodal container freight secured on chassis
• Routes throughout the Los Angeles and Inland Empire areas
• Operations include ramps in Long Beach, Los Angeles, Commerce, City of Industry, and Bloomington
• Some freight runs north through the Grapevine to Shafter/Lebec
• Mix of preload and live freight
• Auto-dispatch operation; drivers do not select their routes
• No-touch freight with no driver-assist loads
• Mandatory coverage of northbound deliveries and pickups
• Drivers typically operate their full 11-hour driving window and may occasionally use their full 14-hour clock depending on freight volume
• Extra workdays are optional
• Major holiday work may be voluntary depending on the yearly schedule
