The role requires 2–5 years of indirect tax experience, comfort with tax technology, data analytics, and large-volume transactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Economics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 2-5 years of indirect tax experience focused on sales and use tax audits.
• Exposure to tax technology, data analytics, and large-volume transaction analysis is desirable.
• Sales and Use Tax Compliance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all phases of state and local sales and use tax audits, including audit kickoff meetings, information gathering, data extraction, audit sample review, audit workpaper preparation, and audit resolution
• Analyze auditor requests and prepared detailed responses and supporting documentation
• Review audit findings, identify opportunities to reduce assessments, and assist with negotiations, protests, appeals, and refund opportunities
• Coordinate with internal departments to obtain supporting documentation and ensure timely audit responses
• Maintain audit workpapers, documentation, and audit tracking schedules
• Identify recurring audit issues and recommend process improvements to reduce future tax risk
• Research and interpret state and local sales, use, gross receipts, excise, and other indirect tax laws
• Provide guidance regarding the taxability of purchases, services, fixed assets, and operational transactions
• Review tax account reconciliations and identify variances requiring investigation
• Assist with exemption certificate management and documentation
