USI Insurance Services is hiring an Employee Benefits Sales Underwriter for our Midsouth Region! This is a remote role, but candidates must reside in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Georgia.

Job Description and Responsibilities

Client-facing position that acts as an engaged participant in the sales process. Responsible for analyzing information to create and assist with delivery of financial solutions for prospective and existing clients with complex benefit programs.

  • Develop strategic plans and solutions for prospects and larger clients.
  • Collaborate with service team members to articulate clients’ objectives and deliver proactive solutions.
  • Provide expert underwriting review and technical insight, guiding on financial concepts and analytical materials.
  • Explain external market influences and internal experience trends affecting benefit costs.
  • Participate in finalist sales presentations, leading financial analysis and discussions.
  • Utilize data analytics tools for demonstrations and analysis.
  • Analyze and prepare financial reporting packages, including claims utilization, trend analyses, rate modeling, and benchmarking.
  • Develop strategies for funding, network, and plan design to reduce costs.
  • Review group insurance contracts and financial arrangements technically.
  • Lead initiatives, develop tools, and mentor team members.
  • Maintain industry knowledge and develop carrier relationships.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in employee benefits or related field.
  • High School diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Willingness to obtain a state Life & Disability insurance license.
  • Broad insurance industry knowledge.
  • Strong negotiation, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Additional Information
