Sales Team Leader

Location: Remote
This role is eligible to be performed remotely. If you reside outside of 100 miles, you will travel 4 times/year for collaboration and connection.

Summary of Role

The Sales Team Leader (STL) will execute strategic sales plans for assigned accounts, manage one or more direct reports, and apply customer-specific knowledge to improve solutions and processes. The ideal candidate has extensive sales experience, excels in relationship building, retailer negotiation, and has strong leadership and interpersonal skills. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing plans for assigned products and accounts.
  • Identify new business opportunities by analyzing industry and customer trends.
  • Manage sales execution, reporting, and account maintenance within the region.
  • Meet sales targets while managing profitability and expenses.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers through various communication channels.
  • Design and execute promotional programs including DSMPs.
  • Handle sales for headquarter and secondary accounts as assigned.
  • Prepare sales budgets and financial reports.
  • Monitor and report sales performance, communicate updates, and manage inventory data.
  • Coordinate supply issues and company announcements with customers.
  • Assist in inventory management and product launches.
  • Implement product specifications and pricing updates.
  • Maintain strong interdepartmental relationships and collaborate effectively.
  • Use market data to support budgeting and category reviews.
  • Manage and train brokers/distributors if applicable.
  • Support accounts receivable processes.
  • Engage in leadership activities such as goal setting, coaching, and delegation.
  • Prioritize projects to meet deadlines.
  • Participate in joint business planning meetings.
  • Lead forecasting and represent the company knowledgeably.
  • Research consumer needs and address them with solutions.
  • Achieve sales objectives through planning, analysis, and forecasting.
  • Generate leads and nurture retailer relationships.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Meet deadlines and submit required reports.
  • Participate in leadership development and ongoing education.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Develop strategies to expand customer base and brand reach.
  • Build relationships with strategic retailers.
  • Ensure sales targets are met and monitor progress.
  • Handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Occasional weekend work for events may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of seven years in key account sales, preferably in dairy or organic industry.
  • At least five years managing sales in a corporate setting.
  • Existing relationships with key regional customers.
  • Knowledge of private label processes preferred.
  • Proven sales management success.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • At least three years managing employees.
  • Broker management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to travel 30-40% for trade shows, sales calls, and meetings.
Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $92,768 - $127,337 per year, plus 25% bonus eligibility. Compensation may include discretionary bonuses, and final salary depends on location, skills, education, and experience. Entry-level candidates should expect to be at the lower end of the range.
