Thompson Machinery, a leading Caterpillar dealer in Middle and West Tennessee and North Mississippi, seeks a Sales Support Specialist to empower the dealership’s sales team. You will help prepare contracts, process orders, and support billing and warranty enrollment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Proficient with basic MS applications, Lotus Notes, browsers and proprietary software.
• Effective communication with customers, coworkers and managers.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Team oriented, collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

• Create sales agreements and shipping documents for equipment transport.
• Prepare and distribute business documents, reports and sales/marketing materials.
• In-office role, Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm.
• Inventory management of equipment at Thompson Machinery or other sites.
• Process sales transactions and invoicing in coordination with Accounting.

Sales Support Specialist

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Sales Support Specialist position is responsible for providing administrative support to dealership Sales staff members with the coordination and processing of equipment sales. The positions will work closely with Sales Operations on sales transactions and records, warranty enrollment, and customer billing processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create sales agreements and shipping documents for transport of equipment
• Assists in preparation and distribution of business documents, reports and sales and marketing documentation for analysis
• In office, M-F (8 am - 5 pm)
• Inventory management of equipment at Thompson Machinery or other locations
• Gather materials and process sales transactions, interacting with Accounting Department for customer invoicing
• Assist Territory Sales Representatives with sales transaction paperwork, customer history, etc.
• Use the Dealer's business system to extract customer and equipment information
• Prepare written reports and recommendations as required by the Dealership
• Communicate verbal recommendations as required by the Dealership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Occasionally lifting 25 - 30 lbs
• Frequent hand use for typing, phone, materials, and tasks
• Work outdoors with safety PPE required
• Other assigned duties
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Three or more years of relevant experience desired.
• Able to use standard office equipment: computers, calculators, printers, copiers, and fax.
• Proficient in the use of basic Microsoft applications, Lotus Notes, Web-browsers, and must be able to develop functional ability in the use of proprietary software.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, vendors, and managers.
• Demonstrate proficiency in providing excellence in customer service and representing Thompson Machinery in a professional manner.
• Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive corporate information.
• Functions effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
