Overview

Siemens Rail Automation seeks a Sales Support Professional to handle various business processes and proposals within the Freight Estimating Organization. You will work with customers to resolve requirements for estimates and proposals as well as other pricing related tasks and drive them to completion. You are well organized, able to prioritize multiple initiatives at once and experienced with data analysis and estimating principles. You will have sophisticated experience using a variety of data analysis methods, data mining and estimating tools. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with partners to improve business outcome and must be comfortable working with a wide range of customers and functional teams.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform daily tasks to prepare product estimates and proposals with an emphasis on analyzing data to ensure adherence to contractual obligations, efficient Gross Margin, and competitive estimates for both domestic and international opportunities.
  • Review specifications, collaborate with Engineering and Sales to ensure Siemens is bidding to prescribed and detailed Scope of Work.
  • Set up meetings with Sales and/or Management to review bids prior to submittal and/or resolve any issues that arise in the bid phase.
  • Attend Internal and External meetings to review open opportunities, align on bid date commitments and communicate any issues that arise.
  • Develop estimates using sophisticated tools and processes.
  • Emphasize streamlining processes and data analytic improvements.
  • Build requirement documentation for estimates and proposals.
  • Work with Estimating and Development teams to implement data analytic solutions and estimating tool improvements including testing and training of others.

  • Knowledge and Experience in Freight Rail Engineering, Estimating and Freight Products.
  • Comprehensive professional know-how and experience in shared services and operational excellence / continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge and experience in process optimization, quality and change management projects.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Experience collecting requirements and translating them into estimates and proposals.
  • BS/BA in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Math, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business or related subject area. Advanced degree Preferred.

The pay range for this position is $80,000.00 - $107,700.00 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
