Job summary

B&R Industrial Automation, a segment of ABB’s Automation Business, is hiring a Business Development Engineer to drive new business and market penetration in North America, specifically the Eastern United States. You will identify untapped markets, define technical solutions, and present them to customers to grow the base.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and 3+ years in technical sales/lead generation, with travel up to 50-75% and US work authorization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical or similar) or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years’ relevant experience in cold-calling, technical sales, business development and lead generation; automation industry preferred.
  • Travel up to 50% - 75% within territory; valid US passport required.

Responsibilities

  • Grow sales of B&R's complete product range in the territory by pursuing new and existing opportunities.
  • Define and develop the best technical solution and strategy for customer applications.
  • Hold in-depth technical presentations and discussions with customers.
  • Expand customer base via Target Account Business Plans.
  • Develop market intelligence and document in CRM.
  • Attend trade shows, sales meetings and workshops; promote sales efforts.
