Make Industry Better | Business Development Manager | Condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance| Based in San Jose, California

We are seeking a highly motivated, well-connected Sales Specialist to help accelerate our growth in the predictive maintenance and condition monitoring space. This is an independent, flexible role, not a full-time office-bound position, ideal for experienced professionals who value autonomy and results.

This opportunity offers a commission structure well above industry standards, along with substantial long-term growth potential. You’ll represent a top-tier product with a visionary partner team dedicated to building a world-class platform in equipment reliability.

Our core markets include light industrial sectors such as Food & Beverage, Winemaking, Pharmaceuticals, and Healthcare. Additional opportunities also exist in Water Treatment, Wind Power, Rail, and Port operations. While heavy manufacturing and industrial materials remain part of our expansion strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities in industrial predictive maintenance (PdM), asset reliability, and condition monitoring.
  • Leverage your existing network of decision-makers in CPG, food & beverage, pharma, and related sectors to generate leads and build pipelines.
  • Conduct needs assessments and present technical solutions to operations, maintenance, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements.
  • Manage the sales cycle from initial contact to signed agreement, maintaining clear communication throughout.
  • Provide regular market feedback and competitor intelligence to support product strategy.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in selling PdM, reliability, or condition monitoring solutions (hardware, software, or services).
  • Strong understanding of technologies such as vibration analysis, wireless sensors, IIoT platforms, etc.
  • Deep, trusted relationships with key contacts in manufacturing plants, especially within CPG, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical verticals.
  • Self-starter mindset, able to work independently without base salary or micromanagement.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to convey technical value to non-technical buyers.

Other:

  • Commission structure based on contract value, paid at key deal milestones (e.g. PO, implementation).
  • Access to training, marketing support, and demo resources.
