Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking a customer-focused associate to assist in counter sales of building materials and related merchandise, answering questions and providing product information to customers and staff.

You will look up parts, process orders, returns and will-call, coordinate jobsite deliveries, stock shelves and displays, handle cash and POS transactions, and help maintain literature and promotions in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in building materials or related items preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to look up parts and reference products.
• Exposure to POS systems and basic office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with counter sales and product information.
• Provide customer service to customers and staff by phone, in person, or online.
• Lookup parts via computer, catalogue, or manufacturer website.
• Process orders, returns, credits, and will-call items.

Position SummaryProvide sales assistance and product information on building materials and related merchandise to customers and sales staff.Position Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGreet and assist customers with counter sales, questions on product and any other information as needed.Perform customer service to customers and staff by phone, person and to provide information about products or services, sales and questions.Lookup parts via computer lookup, catalogue, or manufacturer/distributor websiteContact suppliers for availability and cost on special order productsProvide timely follow-up to project quotes and estimatesCoordinate jobsite deliveries with respective dispatch departmentFilling customer backorders and contacting customers when parts are received.Promotes and sells new or additional services or products to meet customer’s needsTake and enter orders, cancel orders and process returns and will call ordersMaintain cash drawer and issues receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customersProcess returns, exchanges, quotes, sales orders, credits, purchase orders, stock receipts, work orders and stock transfers.Provide and maintain an adequate supply of product literature and a product information on building materials and associated inventory.Stock shelves and price mark them and any additional merchandiseClean, organize and stock showroom and counter areaKnowledgeable of promotions by store or manufacturerAssist other departments and sales staff with products and services offeredAssists with preparing and maintaining merchandise displaysClean, maintain and operate tools, equipment, supplies and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulationsPerform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.Education/ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GEDPrevious experience with building materials and related items preferredExperience with computers, emails, cash register and other office machines (POS system)Other RequirementsWork business hours during the week, required weekends and overtime.Maintenance of regular attendanceKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of company products sufficient to look up/reference parts, products or componentsExcellent Verbal & Written Communication along with basic data entry/keyboard skills.Ability to communicated in English and Spanish preferred.Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs and meeting quality standards for services.Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst busy work environment.Ability to work as an individual and as a team to meet productions goals.Willing to obtain other training if deemed necessary in performance of responsibilities and continuing education.Working Conditions and Physical RequirementsWork is in a retail environment indoor and outdoor, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.Employee must have clear, close vision for reading and computer/scan work. Must be able to safely squat/bend/climb. Will occasionally lift/ push/pull up to 75 lbs., grasp, talk, hear and stand/walk for prolonged periods. Job may require reaching at or above shoulder level and below waist.
