SALES REPRESENTATIVE - OUTSIDE (FLORIDA)

Phillips Manufacturing is seeking a Sales Representative to drive sales growth and market expansion in Florida, including the panhandle. This role is responsible for introducing, developing, and maintaining relationships with contractors, distributors, and key decision-makers in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a contractor sales background or experience as a contractor with sales expertise. Bilingual (English & Spanish) skills are preferred.

The ideal candidate for this fully remote full-time position would ideally reside in Orlando or Northern Florida.

Essential Functions:

Business Development & Territory Management

  • Travel throughout the assigned region to engage with contractors, installers, and distributors.
  • Convert non-Phillips customers by conducting job site visits and hands-on product demonstrations.
  • Initiate and prospect sales opportunities with contractors, AECs (architects, engineers, and contractors), and distributors.
  • Act as a consultative sales expert, advising customers on inventory, distribution, and product selection.
  • Develop and execute strategic marketing campaigns to expand brand presence.

Technical Sales & Customer Support

  • Provide installer training, project management, and job site assistance to ensure proper product use.
  • Deliver effective product demonstrations, training sessions, and technical recommendations.
  • Offer field support for large and specialized installations, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Gather market feedback on product performance and recommend improvements.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with regional sales managers, marketing teams, and internal sales staff to drive business growth.
  • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and association meetings to represent Phillips Manufacturing.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of customer interactions, training sessions, and sales activities.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish), preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide technical recommendations.
  • Customer focused with strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and associates.
  • Proven ability to actively listen, ask clarifying questions and summarize concerns or actions from customers or internal resources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).

Other Requirements:

  • Must reside in Orlando or Northern Florida.
  • 80%+ travel required within Florida, including the panhandle.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Travel by automobile and or plane within specific region or regions.

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred but not required; equivalent field and industry experience accepted.

Experience:

  • 3+ years proven experience in high volume sales, preferably in an outside sales capacity.
  • Drywall distribution/GSD Sales experience.
  • Contractor Sales or former contractor with sales background experience, preferred.
