Job summary

Clark Associates, Inc. is seeking a Sales Representative to support the Federal Sales team. You will review bid portals, prepare quotes, and move orders from bid through billing while coordinating with customers, vendors, and internal teams.

The role requires strong organizational skills, customer service focus, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable communicating with customers & vendors by phone and email.
  • Strong computer skills: 90% of this job is using a computer for email, data entry, and web-based systems.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple shifting deadlines to manage.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly review bid opportunities posted on bid portals (daily)
  • Respond to customer account inquiries via email and phone (daily)
  • Accurately prepare and submit bids/quotes by specified deadlines (daily)
  • Create and maintain customer & quote records
  • Collaborate with internal departments to process orders, research lead times, and resolve issues
  • Work with vendors and carriers to ensure order fulfillment
  • Build familiarity with federal contracting regulations and guidelines
  • Manage GSA contract catalog
  • Enter new orders into our project ordering system
  • Undertake special projects and assignments as needed
  • Attend trainings, industry shows, and trade shows as directed

Reporting to the Director of Federal Sales, most of this role involves reviewing bid portals, preparing quotes, and helping orders move from bid stage through to billing. Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer account inquiries via email and phone (daily)

  • Enter new orders into our project ordering system
  • Obtain quotes from installers, representatives, and manufacturers through email & phone communication
  • Create and maintain customer & quote records
  • Ensure customers have complete & current order status
  • Collaborate with internal departments to process orders, research lead times, and resolve issues
  • Work with vendors and carriers to ensure order fulfillment
  • Build familiarity with federal contracting regulations and guidelines
  • Manage GSA contract catalog
  • Undertake special projects and assignments as needed
  • Attend trainings, industry shows, and trade shows as directed
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Experience
Required
  • Comfortable communicating with customers & vendors by phone and email

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple shifting deadlines to manage
Preferred
  • Experience in customer service, sales, or a similar office-based role
  • Experience preparing quotes, submitting bids, and working with pricing or cost data
