Webstaurantstore is seeking a Material Handler to unload, check in, stock, pick, consolidate, pack, and ship inventory within the warehouse. The role requires using ERP systems and warehouse equipment, including forklifts and handheld scanners, to ensure accurate inbound and outbound operations.

Safety and efficiency are emphasized in daily tasks. The candidate will work with team members to meet daily, weekly, and monthly goals, handle a variety of duties, and maintain an organized work

Responsibilities

• Unload deliveries from trailers using forklift equipment or by hand.
• Receive inventory in ERP and prepare for storage.
• Move palletized products to organize docks or DC areas.
• Scan and place inventory in racking using handheld devices.
• Retrieve items from racking using scanning and ERP.
• Consolidate picked items and prepare customer orders for shipment.
• Pack products accurately using internal SPS system.
• Operate warehouse equipment following safety protocols.
• Meet efficiency, accuracy, and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and report hazards.
• Collaborate with team and leadership to meet goals.
• Flex into other positions and assist as needed.

Job description

Job Summary

The Material Handle r is responsible for unloading, checking in, stocking, picking, consolidating, packing, and shipping inventory in the warehouse. These tasks must be completed to an efficient and accurate standard to ensure smooth inbound and outbound operations. This position requires the use of our internal warehouse systems and various warehouse equipment, which may include Powered Industrial Trucks.

Responsibilities

• Unload live domestic deliveries from trailers using forklift equipment, or unload import containers by hand


• Use our ERP system to systematically receive inventory accurately and efficiently, ready to be placed in storage racking


• Move palletized product using pallet jacks/forklift equipment to organize the receiving dock, or transport product to other areas of the Distribution Center


• Scan and place inventory in racking locations using forklift equipment and a handheld scanning device, ready for warehouse operations


• Retrieve items from racking accurately and efficiently, using handheld scanning devices and ERP system, completed on foot or using forklift equipment


• Sort and consolidate picked items using handheld scanning devices, preparing customer orders for shipment processing


• Pack products accurately and securely using our internal SPS system, focusing on providing an excellent customer experience


• Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners, and computers, following all established protocols and promoting safe working standards


• Meet all expected performance standards regarding efficiency, accuracy, and quality of work


• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety guidelines and reporting any hazards to the appropriate leadership


• Work closely with team members and leadership to meet daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals


• Abide by all company and warehouse policies


• Flex into other positions and departments and undertake additional duties as necessary to support the overall operation

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.


• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.


• Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.


• Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.


• Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.

Experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, order pickers, etc.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment


• Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence


• Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations

Language Skills

• We require a business proficiency in the ability to ready, write, and communicate in English

Education

This role does not require a degree. We value relevant skills and experience and alignment with our core values above all else.

Desired Traits & Skills

• 1 year+ of relevant experience in a distribution environment preferred but not required.
