Job Overview

The Bulk Account Merchandiser Specialist supports the POD Model in the One Tier Sales Strategy within a flexible, 24/7 operation. This role is crucial due to the shift of Dollar General and some independent groceries from Small Store to Large Store channels. The specialist provides vacation coverage, acts as a first contact during late PM/early AM weekends, and liaises between customers, merchandisers, and drivers regarding orders and inventory issues. They may also execute weekend operational plans with minimal influence on strategic changes and keep the DSM informed as appropriate.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Fill, merchandise, and rotate products on display and shelves according to procedures and special programs. Provide vacation coverage for other merchandisers.
  2. Manage, sell, and execute in assigned customer groups on pre-set routes, generating sales orders based on delivery frequency to ensure operational success and contribute to the company's financial performance.
  3. Implement promotions and new products based on targeted initiatives, marketing promotions, POS, and commercial plans to ensure high execution scores.
  4. Organize and maintain back room, including stacking, arranging products, and handling returns of pallets, damaged, or expired products.
  5. Create and distribute POS materials, rotate products, and check vendor operations.
  6. Build business relationships with store personnel through routine follow-up, proactive pricing, and upcoming activities.
  7. Identify and communicate competitive issues or market activities impacting the business, and perform all duties safely.
  8. Serve as a first contact during late PM/early AM weekends, ensuring route coverage and acting as liaison for orders and inventory issues.

Minimum Qualifications

Work Environment
