We invite you to join our team as a Sales Merchandiser, where you will play a crucial role in driving sales growth for two of the world's most recognizable brands, WD-40 and WD-40 Specialist. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Home Depot store management teams to implement company-approved merchandising programs and plans. You'll optimize shelf space, secure additional off-shelf display opportunities, and ensure our products stand out in the marketplace. This role is home-based in the Washington DC and Baltimore area, with travel throughout Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities
  1. Maximize Product Placement: Sell and merchandise all authorized WD-40 Company products by securing off-shelf displays, correcting stock issues, replacing missing tags, and optimizing shelf space to drive sales and meet profitability goals.
  2. Sales Presentations & Relationship Building: Present insights-led sales presentations to Home Depot staff, including store managers and regional merchandising managers, to secure promotional opportunities and build strong relationships. Partner with store employees to drive reorders and support promotional events.
  3. Utilize POS Data: Analyze POS data to assess inventory levels and identify sales opportunities, ensuring stores are stocked adequately and promotional opportunities are maximized.
  4. Support National Account Programs: Collaborate with National Account Managers to execute national programs and identify merchandising improvements to enhance in-store experiences.
  5. Monitor Competitive Activity: Stay informed about competitors' activities and provide timely updates to the team.
  6. Administrative Excellence: Maintain accurate records, submit timely paperwork, and provide product education as needed to meet merchandising goals and company objectives.
Qualifications
  • Experience in big box sales/merchandising
  • At least 2 years of retail merchandising and sales experience, preferably in big box retailers
  • Strong understanding of plan-o-grams and merchandising strategies
  • Ability to build and maintain successful relationships
  • Familiarity with POS data and inventory management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel 60% daily and 40% overnight
  • Physical ability to move, climb ladders, lift up to 40 pounds, and work in various environmental conditions
  • Valid driver's license; company car provided
  • GED or equivalent education
