Job summary

Ferguson is seeking a Sales Manager to cover the Pacific Northwest markets for our Waterworks Municipal business. This role focuses on sales expansion, margin improvement, and market development across OR, WA, ID, MT, with oversight of 7 Outside Sales Representatives and 1 sales support representative.

The position can be based out of any Waterworks location within the territory and reports to the Director of Utility Infrastructure Sales.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in sales and/or management within Waterworks; municipal experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Water Municipal products and programs.
• Willingness to travel throughout territory.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient Excel and PDF skills.
• Able to lead and develop a sales team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers to ensure coordination and service levels.
• Assign, monitor, and set objectives for key accounts and sales reps.
• Join key account calls with sales reps to support relationships and growth.
• Provide leadership on pricing proposals and strategic plans for key accounts.
• Monitor sales trends and market dynamics to target sales efforts.
• Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
• Lead, direct, and develop a sales team to pursue prospects and achieve targets.
• Monitor individual rep budgets and performance using sales tools.
• Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.

Ferguson is currently seeking a Sales Manager to cover the Pacific Northwest markets for our Waterworks Municipal business. This position will have a focus on sales expansion, margin improvement, and market development across the state(s) of OR, WA, ID, MT. The position will be responsible for overall sales performance and have oversight of their associates and dotted line reports.

Position Details

• Reports into the Director of Utility Infrastructure Sales
• Direct oversight of 7 Outside Sales Representatives and 1 sales support representative.
• Position can be based out of any of our waterworks locations within the territory.
• Current Annual Revenue of $40M, Market opportunity of $125M.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains relationships with key vendors and suppliers to ensure coordination and exceptional service levels
• Assigns, monitors, and sets objectives for key accounts and sales representatives
• Accompanies sales representatives on existing key accounts and potential customer calls
• Provides leadership and input for pricing proposals and strategic plans for key accounts
• Monitors sales trends, market dynamics, product performance results and customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts
• Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products and services, and to provide sales support
• Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a sales team to pursue prospects, promote products, offer solutions, and achieve sales targets
• Effectively monitors and manages individual sales representative's budget and performance using sales management tools
• Takes ownership of solving problems and engages other stakeholders as appropriate
• Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service
• Review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability
• Submit short and long term sales plans and prepares sales strategies utilizing available marketing programs to reach designated targets
• Participate in leadership meetings and represent associate concerns, policies, and guidelines to the management team

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in sales and/or management within Waterworks, Municipal experience is preferred
• Prior knowledge of Water Municipal products and/or programs
• Familiarity with markets and business units within assigned geography is a plus
• Desire to be a hard‑working leader, mentor and motivator of individuals and teams
• Ability to analyze data, develop budgets, implement plans, and deliver effective presentations
• Experience defining customer needs and providing solutions
• Constructive and empathetic communication skills, both verbal and written, are a must
• Proficient Excel and PDF skills
• Ability to travel throughout the market with occasional flights and overnights.

Pay Range

$7,012.80 - $15,326.30

Estimated ranges displayed are monthly for salaried roles or hourly for all other roles. This role is bonus or incentive plan eligible. Starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements.
