Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Sales Manager Trainee in the Nashville area to join a structured six-to-nine month program preparing you to lead a sales team. You will work with seasoned managers and consultants, gaining hands-on experience in-store and through business rotations to drive customer experiences and sales results.

You will develop leadership, coaching, and performance analytics skills to drive results and support store operations in a best-in-class retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of management experience with a proven track record of success.
• Experience in a sales-driven environment with strong performance results.
• Ability to execute long- and short-term sales strategies effectively.
• Skilled in developing action plans to drive team performance.
• Strong ability to communicate clearly and influence others.
• Ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to support store operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a commissioned sales team to achieve strong results for your location.
• Collaborate with other sales managers to drive overall store performance and foster continuous improvement through coaching and feedback.
• Recognize individual team member goals and create tailored development plans.
• Analyze and track sales performance metrics to meet and exceed targets.
• Identify opportunities and solve challenges to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
• Champion CarMax values and initiatives to maintain a people-first culture.
• Foster continuous improvement through coaching and feedback.
• Responsible for CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements for your department and/or location, including workplace safety.
