Mech‑Mind Robotics is a global leader in industrial 3D vision and AI‑powered robotics software. Our technology enables manufacturers, logistics providers, and automation integrators to deploy intelligent robotic systems that see, decide, and act with precision. With a rapidly growing footprint in Texas, we are expanding our regional leadership team to capture the significant automation demand across the state's heavy industry, oil & gas, metal processing, automotive, and manufacturing corridors.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Manager, Texas is a full‑cycle enterprise sales role for a technically fluent, market‑savvy professional who thrives on building business from the ground up. Based in Houston or Austin, with flexibility for remote customer engagement, you will own the complete sales lifecycle — from strategic territory planning and cold prospecting to technical solution design, negotiation, and deal closure — across heavy industry, oil & gas, metal processing, automotive Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers, OEMs, ODMs, and system integrators.
This is not a maintenance role. You will open new accounts, win competitive evaluations, and establish Mech‑Mind as the preferred 3D vision partner in one of America's most dynamic industrial territories. High performers will shape regional strategy and build a local team as the territory scales.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own the Territory. Plan and execute the Texas territory strategy, with periodic coverage of other industrial hubs statewide. Manage the full sales cycle — lead generation through contract closure — against aggressive regional growth targets.
- Hunt & Land Key Accounts. Independently prospect, qualify, and close new business with heavy‑industry enterprises, oil & gas operators, metal processing leaders, automotive Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers, OEMs, ODMs, and automation integrators.
- Be the Technical Trusted Advisor. Engage directly with Engineering, Operations, and Plant Management to understand automation challenges and architect customer‑specific solutions — robotic guidance, precision assembly, inline quality inspection (AOI), and logistics sorting — articulating clear ROI.
- Drive Quality & Inspection Solutions. Identify high‑volume AOI and inline 3D inspection opportunities where defect reduction, throughput optimization, and zero‑defect delivery are critical KPIs.
- Expand Key Accounts. Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts; identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities, ensure retention, and nurture long‑term strategic partnerships.
- Align Internal Resources. Partner closely with engineering, applications, and support teams to scope, prototype, and deliver solutions that win technical evaluations.
- Read the Market. Monitor Texas industrial trends, supply chain shifts, sector developments, and competitor moves to uncover whitespace opportunities and preempt risks.
- Represent the Brand. Lead regional presence at trade shows and industry events to build brand authority and generate qualified pipeline.
- Operate from Houston or Austin. Maintain strong local presence, rapid customer response, and effective coordination with headquarters and regional partners.
- Build for Scale. Deliver structured feedback to global leadership on Texas market signals, pricing dynamics, and product‑market fit to inform broader regional strategy.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field — you understand how automation systems work at the component level.
- 5+ years of full‑cycle sales experience in industrial automation, machine vision, robotics, or closely related industrial technologies, with a demonstrable track record of new business development — not just account maintenance. Prior experience selling into heavy industry, oil & gas, metal processing, or automotive is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to prospect and close independently — comfortable with cold outreach, on‑site technical presentations, and navigating complex, multi‑stakeholder buying committees in multinational manufacturing environments.
- Strong technical fluency in automation and machine vision solutions; you can hold your own in discussions with engineers and translate technical capabilities into business value.
- Highly self‑motivated, target‑driven, and energized by ambiguity — you perform best when you're building something, not inheriting it.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in English, with the ability to operate seamlessly across US industrial culture and global corporate standards. Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a strong plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently throughout Texas and occasionally to headquarters or customer sites across North America.
WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE UNIQUE
- Own a market, not just a quota. Texas is a priority growth region with immediate demand from heavy‑industry, oil & gas, and metal‑processing hubs — alongside emerging opportunities in automotive manufacturing.
- Sell technology that wins on merit. Cutting‑edge 3D vision and AI robotics with demonstrable technical differentiation — not commodity hardware.
- Write the playbook. This is an early‑stage regional buildout; your wins will define how Mech‑Mind scales in Texas.
- Direct line to global leadership. Your market insights will shape product roadmap, pricing strategy, and regional investment decisions.
