Job Summary:


The Sales Manager, Automation will lead a team of technically specialized regional sales managers to sell industrial automation solutions to distributors and broader end customers. They will ensure revenue quotas are met by all sales managers, while maintaining a high level of customer experience and accuracy.




Responsibilities:



  • Develop and aggressively grow sales through a highly technical sales team.

  • Develop short range and long-range strategy for a rapidly evolving sales team.

  • Coach sales team in identifying customer needs and create demand through proven sales techniques and best practices.

  • Identify and implement effective lines of communication, processes, and policies with customers, vendors, sales, manufacturing, and accounting at all times.

  • Update and work with internal business functions to fulfill customer inventory needs and special requests.

  • Track and analyze team sales performance.

  • Review and approve specialized quotes and orders, RMA's and other special requests.

  • Coach sales team in proven negotiation techniques that guide customers to establish win-win situations.

  • Travel into territory working alongside regional sales managers calling on assigned target accounts.




Required Skills and Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred in business management or marketing.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in sales or sales management in the industrial automation industry.

  • Demonstrated sales aptitude; assertive, persistent, good listener, self-motivated, excellent closing skills.

  • Strong coaching, peer-mentoring, and motivating experience.

  • Excellent oral andwritten communication and customer relations skills.

  • Excellent systems literacy knowledge in MS Office, Excel, Word, Internet, and the ability to utilize database systems. Experience with SFDC a plus.
