Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Sales Account Manager to drive growth and nurture customer relationships within a defined sales territory. In this role, you will onboard new clients, support existing partnerships, and spearhead strategic initiatives tailored to each customer's needs. Your expertise in the food ingredient or specialty chemical sector will be vital in identifying new business opportunities, analyzing market trends, and elevating our ingredient portfolio through compelling presentations and industry engagement.

Location: Hybrid (3 days in-office)

Travel: 25-40%

Key Responsibilities:
  • Territory Management: Manage and expand a designated sales region while developing strong, long-term customer relationships
  • Customer Onboarding and Support: Guide new customers through the onboarding process and deliver ongoing support to existing accounts
  • Strategic Planning: Craft and implement customer-specific strategic plans to meet unique business objectives
  • New Business Development: Actively identify and capitalize on opportunities to broaden our market presence
  • Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends and customer needs to pinpoint emerging applications for our products
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain robust connections across customer organizations, including departments such as R&D, Quality, and Purchasing
  • Sales Presentations: Deliver persuasive presentations that highlight our comprehensive ingredient offerings
  • Trade Show Representation: Represent the company at national and regional industry events
  • Reporting: Provide regular activity reports to the Head of Sales & Marketing to track progress and inform strategy
Requirements:
  • Industry Experience: At least 5 years of proven sales experience in the food ingredient or specialty chemical industry
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sales Expertise: Demonstrated success in direct ingredient sales through both customers and channels such as distributors or brokers
