Qualifications

Job description

General Description


The Sales & Logistics Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new customers for the sale of BCI Materials.



Key Duties



  • Report to and coordinate with the BCI Materials Manager to ensure the flow of information on all aspects of this position.

  • Act as the point of contact for all BCI Materials customers, both internal and external.

  • Understanding of asphalt emulsion products and how they are used.

  • Communicate sales purchase order information and pricing to the appropriate office personnel to ensure timely customer information entry into the system, to include price adjustments based on monthly changes in the asphalt index price. Work with the BCI Materials Manager to establish pricing when necessary.

  • Communicate material needs and daily delivery schedule to the Plant Foreman so that he/she can disseminate this information to the plant staff to ensure timely loadouts to meet the delivery schedule.

  • Generate order sheets for customer orders as they are received and coordinate these customer orders with the Plant Foreman to insure product availability and timely deliveries.

  • Arrange and coordinate all transportation needs for customer deliveries and tanker recovery.

  • Resolve conflicts for customer order delivery quantities and delivery times when issues arise based on emulsion inventory or transportation availability.

  • Travel as required to meet with existing and potential new customers to provide adequate customer service in the field and generate new business where possible.

  • Responsible for the BCI Materials tanker fleet, including logistics and maintenance.

  • Coordinate with the Plant Foreman and the BCI Materials Manager regarding any fleet tankers that are returned to the plant for disposition of any unused material.

  • Any additional tasks assigned by the BCI Materials Manager.

  • Attend and complete training as required (company, certification, etc.).

  • Education and Experience

    This position typically is not an entry-level job, as it requires demonstrable previous experience as a Sales & Logistics Manager.



  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Possess a valid driver's license for the operation of company vehicles.

  • Knowledge of the BCI Materials asphalt emulsion product line and the correct use of each.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ethical professional and behavioral standards.Physical Demands

    The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Sales & Logistics Manager to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.



  • Regularly required to sit and/or stand during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day.

  • Employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb.

  • Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 25 pounds and carry up to 15 pounds.

  • Continuous mental attention is required to complete tasks in an efficient manner.

  • Exposure to dust, dirt, grease and noise.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, based on project need(s) and demand(s).

  • Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project.

  • Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and ready mixed concrete.
