Job summary

Genesco's Journeys in Durham, NC is seeking motivated retail associates to help manage store operations, drive sales, and mentor teammates. You will greet customers, maintain visual standards, and deliver a fun, full-service shopping experience while upholding company policies and loss-prevention guidelines.

This role requires night and weekend availability, ability to stand for long periods, and the stamina to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed store and personal sales goals and standards of performance
• Assist in training and developing a successful sales team
• Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees by enforcing all company policies and practices
• Perform opening and closing duties according to company policy
• Supervise and manage all aspects of daily store operations in store management’s absence
• Supervise and manage all aspects of Loss Prevention practices in store management’s absence
• Effectively communicate all store needs to store management
• Provide a fun, full service experience to all customers
• Resolve customer issues effectively
• Understand the Journeys culture and demonstrate it to the team
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Desire to succeed in fast-paced retail environment
• Willingness to learn
• Completion of all training programs leading up to Sales Lead position or equivalent training
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts
• Age 18+ for employment
