Our Sales and Marketing department is looking for a property and casualty field territory underwriter to evaluate, assess, and price risks, driving profitable growth for our agency partners in Connecticut. This position is fully remote if serving territories outside our Fairfield, Ohio headquarters.

The annual pay range for this role is $90,000 - $165,000, with a competitive package based on education, experience, location, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite: analyze risks, price, negotiate, and make informed decisions on commercial business
• Market: solicit and sell business across all units within the territory to build strong agency relationships
• Develop the territory: lead strategic planning, ownership, and execution of growth and profitability initiatives, including new agency appointments
• Lead agencies: build deep relationships with assigned agencies to develop a profitable portfolio, maintaining a presence within agency offices
• Provide leadership: collaborate with other field disciplines to support agency success through communication and teamwork
• Research the market: stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, emerging risks, competitors, and make data-driven decisions

Qualifications:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Willingness to travel regularly within the territory
• Passion for leadership
• Valid driver’s license

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of multiline commercial underwriting experience; more than 3 years preferred
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CIC, CPCU, professional selling) are a plus
