With a commitment to excellence and strong agency relationships, our Sales and Marketing department seeks a property and casualty field territory underwriter. As a field-based underwriter, you will evaluate, assess, and price risks while leading profitable growth for our agency partners in your territory. This position is for our City, State territory.

Positions serving territories away from our headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio are fully remote.

The pay range for this position is $90,000 - $152,000 annually. Our competitive compensation package is based on education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on performance.

Be ready to:

• underwrite: analyze risks, price, negotiate, and make informed decisions on commercial business
• market: sell and solicit business across all available units within the territory to build a strong, diverse agency relationship
• develop the territory: lead strategic planning, ownership, and execution of growth and profit initiatives, including new agency appointments
• lead agencies: build deep relationships and understanding with each agency to foster a diverse and profitable portfolio, maintaining a presence within agency offices
• provide leadership: collaborate with and support other field disciplines within agency relationships to ensure success
• research the market: stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, emerging risks, competitors, and make informed decisions based on this information

Be equipped with:

• strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• willingness to travel and visit agencies regularly within the territory
• passion for leading
• a valid driver’s license

Bring education and experience from:

• proven underwriting experience, minimum 2 years in multiline commercial underwriting, more than 3 years preferred
• relevant insurance certifications (e.g., CIC, CPCU) or professional selling experience is a plus
