Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. is seeking a Sales Engineer for Northern Indiana to expand market share in cutting tools. The role involves strategic planning, building relationships with end-users and distributors, and maintaining CRM data.

Travel may be required to support customers and demonstrate new products. The candidate should have CNC environment experience, engineering background, and strong communication skills, with a preference for those who live in the area and have metal-cutting

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC environment with programming, engineering or product design.
• Self-motivated with working knowledge of the metal-cutting industry.
• Ideal candidate should live within the area of responsibility for this position.
• Previous metal cutting sales experience is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Expand company market share within the industry through increased sales.

• Develop/maintain customer relationships with both end-user and authorized distribution.
• Update CRM software database with customer information.
• Present new product information and corporate initiatives to sales channels.
• Identify customer tooling needs and recommend improvements to manufacturing processes.
• Manufacturing is fast-paced and requires timely customer follow-up.
• Provide test data and market analysis to internal engineering and product development teams.
• Some overnight travel is required.

Education:

• High School Diploma required

Pay Range:

$65,000 - $80,000 plus commission and bonus
