As part of the Magnetics Division within discoverIE Group, we benefit from a global network of specialized electronic component manufacturers. With more than 2,000 employees across 13 countries,

Noratel combines local responsiveness with global engineering and production capabilities to deliver world-class magnetic components.

Key Responsibilities: Application Sales and Customer Development

  • Serve as the primary commercial and technical contact for assigned customers and prospects
  • Conduct application-level discussions to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate transformer, reactor, current transformer, or related magnetic solutions
  • Prepare and present technically accurate quotations, proposals, and application information in response to customer RFQs
  • Maintain regular communication with customers and follow up systematically on open quotations and opportunities
  • Support customer visits, product presentations, trade shows, and other business-development activities
Technical and Commercial Coordination
  • Act as the link between customers, the North American sales organization, Engineering, and Noratel manufacturing sites
  • Coordinate with factories in the United States, Mexico, and other global locations to confirm cost, capacity, lead time, and technical feasibility
  • Communicate manufacturing constraints and alternative solutions clearly and professionally
  • Support coordinated account development and cross-functional customer pursuits
  • Participate in S&OP, project review, and opportunity-management meetings
Application Engineering Support
  • Translate customer specifications and application requirements into clear technical briefs for engineering teams
  • Perform first-level technical screening of RFQs before routing them for detailed engineering review
  • Support customers with product selection, datasheet interpretation, and compliance-related questions
  • Provide guidance on relevant UL, CSA, and IEC requirements for transformers and power equipment
  • Support prototype reviews, first-article approvals, and customer acceptance activities
  • Contribute to VAVE initiatives focused on cost optimization and product improvement
RFQ and Pipeline Management
  • Manage the RFQ process from initial inquiry through quotation, follow-up, award, or loss
  • Prioritize opportunities based on customer value, strategic fit, technical feasibility, and manufacturing capability
  • Maintain accurate opportunity records, next actions, and expected close dates
  • Prepare regular RFQ and pipeline status reports for internal review
  • Track win-and-loss trends and provide market intelligence to Engineering and senior leadership
  • Coordinate the handover of awarded First Time Built projects to Engineering and Operations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum two years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, or product management within an electrical or electronics manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of magnetic components such as transformers, reactors, inductors, or related power-electronics products
  • Ability to read and interpret customer specifications, electrical drawings, and technical documentation

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work with engineers, buyers, and other customer stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using CRM, RFQ tracking, or similar structured opportunity-management tools
  • Ability to manage a high volume of concurrent RFQs and customer opportunities
  • Self-directed, organized, and comfortable working across multiple teams and locations
Preferred Experience
