POSITION SUMMARY

Dover Motion is seeking a customer‑obsessed Sales Engineer to join our team. The Sales Engineer’s primary responsibilities include qualifying all incoming customer leads and inquiries in a timely, professional and positive manner; promoting Dover Motion products and solutions through consultative value selling to determine optimal solutions; preparing quotes and proposals for customers based on incoming leads; and maintaining positive relationships with existing customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interpret customer requirements and assist customers in defining and selecting the appropriate Dover Motion product(s).
• Negotiate with customers on best pricing under direction of senior management.
• Document special pricing and custom engineering requests and follow up to ensure requests are completed and presented to customers in a timely fashion.
• Utilize HubSpot CRM, capturing all leads and customer information, and entering data accurately and promptly.
• Provide technical drawings or product specifications when needed.
• Manage assigned accounts for product direction/forecasting, profitability, growth, and attainment of sales objectives.
• Coordinate activities (custom requests, training, visits to and from customers) in partnership with Business Development, Engineering, and Operations as appropriate.
• Support Dover’s strategic marketing activities (webinars, tradeshows, white papers, etc.) when required via sales support, content creation, etc.
• Cold call prospective customers or open/lost/unresolved leads in HubSpot and follow up with customers from product CAD site download.
• Act as a backup in answering Dover incoming phone calls, sales order entry, and responding to customer issues/returns/requests through e‑mail and phone.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred; Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 5+ years of technical sales in motion control or manufacturing industry.
• Proven experience supporting customers and/or application engineering needs.
• Experience in motion products/technology product company required.
