Job Description: We are looking for a creative Part‑time Sales & Education Lead to join our leadership team. Ideal candidates would be self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and ready to sell high quality sewing machines, software, accessories, cabinets and more. This position is a perfect fit for an existing quilter, sewist, seamstress or dressmaker who has a passion for the art and can use it to make positive impacts on our community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Facilitate exceptional customer experience by leading sales associates and service technicians to ensure they are equipped to service customers in a timely, positive and uplifting manner.
- Working with the Event Planner; develop/execute/maintain special educational events and advertising (ecommerce/brick & morter/social media) which meet current community needs and inspire future creativity.
- Develop/execute/maintain training that enables associates to find and demonstrate the perfect sewing machine/software/cabinet based on customer need.
- Develop/execute/maintain lessons which enables post‑sale support & creates excitement around additional accessories/notions/projects/classes and events so customers leave both educated and inspired.
- Facilitate and support RSC participation in offsite events (i.e. Fiber & Fabric Fest, Quilt Shows, etc…)
- Participate in off‑site training and conferences for company products in order to attain and cross‑deploy good working knowledge to the entire team. Less than 5% travel required.
- Participate on the leadership team to drive business success and expand customer base.
- Support inventory management activities.
- Contribute/Ensure a positive working team environment.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Sewing experience with demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills is a must.
- Must be organized and able to adhere to operational processes, including reading on paper/computer screens and writing/typing on paper/computer. Computer proficiency is a must.
- Basic math proficiency with ability to total prices with taxes, maintain a budget, establish and track margins, determine impact of financing, accepts payment and makes appropriate change.
- Be on feet for hours at a time. Bend down and reach above head. Push/pull merchandise on equipment.
- Lift, place and arrange items on shelves, racks or carts. Individually be able to lift up to 25 lbs and group lift up to 75 lbs (under 2 lbs on a constant basis, 25 lbs on a frequent basis, 25‑49 lbs on an occasional basis, and 50‑75 lbs on an infrequent basis).
- A college diploma with 2+ years retail experience & demonstrated success in closing sales is a plus.
- Be available to work at least four days per week, including two Saturdays per month & open/close the store.
Salary
$17 - $20 plus generous commission on sales
