Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic and performance-driven Sales Director to lead, mentor, and grow our Research Sales team. This role will oversee a team of 7 professionals across multiple states in the US, driving commercial success, optimizing pipeline management, and ensuring our continued leadership in AI-based pathology research solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and scale a team of Sales Account Executives.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on results, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement structured sales processes, coaching frameworks, and development plans.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan aligned with company goals for the research market.
  • Oversee pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and quota achievement across regions.
  • Drive CRM discipline, ensuring data accuracy and informed decision-making.
  • Represent the company in strategic customer engagements and at key industry events.
  • Monitor trends in digital pathology, AI, and life sciences research to inform commercial strategy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align go-to-market execution.
  • Customer Focus
  • Support and influence key strategic deals, especially in complex sales environments.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with research stakeholders from bench scientists to institutional leaders.
  • Translate customer feedback into actionable insights for internal teams.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 7+ years in solution sales within life sciences, digital pathology, or adjacent technology fields.
  • 3+ years in a sales leadership role with experience managing distributed teams.
  • Will consider candidates who are looking to step up from a contribution sales role.
  • Strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets in complex sales cycles.
  • Solid understanding of research workflows in biopharma, academic, and CRO environments.
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) for forecasting and funnel management.
  • Scientific education (Master’s or PhD preferred) in fields such as Molecular Biology, Pathology, Immunology, or Biomedical Sciences.

Preferred:

  • Experience with AI-powered image analysis or digital pathology platforms.
  • Familiarity with multiplexed imaging, spatial biology, or translational cancer research.
  • Background in solution selling with both software and hardware/instrumentation components.
