Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of successful sales experience in a consultative, relationship-driven environment.
  • Proven ability to initiate conversations, qualify opportunities, and develop meaningful client relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a natural ability to connect with people.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence, active listening abilities, and professional maturity.
  • Experience managing prospects and opportunities within a CRM.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
  • Ability to thrive in a mission-driven culture that prioritizes service, integrity, and results.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for nonprofit prospects, building trust and uncovering needs.
  • Outbound calls and emails to qualify opportunities and move prospects through the funnel.
  • Identify and develop meaningful client relationships with foundations, charities, and social impact groups.
  • Maintain CRM hygiene, track activity, and report on pipeline progress.

Our client is hiring a highly skilled Sales Development Representative to help connect nonprofit leaders with the resources and support they need to succeed. This role calls for someone who excels at reading situations, understanding unspoken needs, asking thoughtful questions, and building trust quickly — and who's equally comfortable with the steady rhythm of outbound calls, emails, and follow-up that this kind of role requires. Our prospects are passionate founders, executive directors, board members, and changemakers who are often navigating complex compliance, tax, and governance challenges.

A successful SDR will serve as a trusted first point of contact, helping prospects feel understood while identifying how The Foundation Group can best support their mission while staying consistent and disciplined in their day-to-day sales activity. This is more than a prospecting role. It's an opportunity to build meaningful relationships with people who are working to make a difference in the world.

  • Comfortable working in a metrics-driven sales environment, with a strong focus on consistent daily activity, pipeline management, and CRM hygiene, while maintaining a relationship-first, consultative approach.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit operations, tax-exempt organizations, governance, fundraising, or compliance requirements.
  • Experience in professional services, consulting, financial services, legal services, or other relationship-based industries.
  • Volunteer, board, or professional involvement in the nonprofit sector.
