Role Description

The Sales Design Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in San Diego, CA. In this position, the consultant greets and engages customers, assesses their needs, and provides design-focused recommendations for furniture and furnishings. Daily responsibilities include presenting product options, preparing room layouts or design concepts, and guiding customers through selections that align with their style, space, and budget. The role also involves processing sales transactions, maintaining showroom displays, and ensuring merchandise is presented in an appealing, modern format. The consultant collaborates with the team to achieve sales goals, supports follow-up communication with customers, and contributes to a welcoming, service-oriented showroom environment.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills, including active listening, clear communication, and relationship-building.
• Proven sales abilities with experience in consultative selling and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Knowledge of interior design principles and space planning to support customers in creating cohesive modern environments.
• Familiarity with furniture and furnishings, including materials, finishes, and modern design styles.
• Ability to work on-site in a retail showroom environment, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple customer projects and follow-ups.
• Comfort with basic technology and point-of-sale systems; experience with design or visualization tools is a plus.
• Previous experience in furniture retail, interior design, or a related field is preferred but not required.
