Position Overview

The Sales & Customer Engagement Director is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and securing business across the full range of products and services Encore can deliver. The role may focus on a specific sector or region. This team member will guide clients through the entire sales process, from outreach and consulting to RFP and closing.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Prospecting & qualifying new accounts
  • Partnering with sales leadership to map out the assigned sector/sub-sector
  • Identifying and developing new sales opportunities to increase new logos or expand existing accounts
  • Building strategies and pursuit plans for end-to-end event solutions
  • Managing demonstrations and client engagement to showcase Encore’s solutions
  • Aligning client needs with our products and services benefits
  • Demonstrating ROI and industry experience to position Encore as a partner of choice
  • Managing quotes, proposals, and RFPs from lead to close in collaboration with other departments
  • Achieving and exceeding quarterly and annual revenue targets
  • Partnering with account management post-sale to nurture relationships and identify future opportunities
  • Representing Encore at industry events and through networking
  • Generating contacts and leveraging existing databases to maximize partnerships

Sales Management & Account Ownership

  • Engaging in strategic, consultative selling across industries, emphasizing the value of partnerships
  • Ensuring successful delivery of sold services from kickoff to handoff
  • Collaborating with project teams to ensure client satisfaction
  • Conducting debriefs and building pursuit plans for new targets
  • Reviewing data and metrics to demonstrate ROI and foster repeat business

Internal Communications

  • Regularly reporting sales activity and progress to management
  • Providing market insights to inform development strategies
  • Maintaining CRM and business intelligence systems
  • Collaborating with marketing on sector-specific campaigns
  • Managing the sales pipeline and prospect health

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 8+ years in a competitive B2B sales environment
  • Experience selling virtually, over the phone, and face-to-face
  • Experience in the live event industry, including virtual/hybrid events (preferred)
  • Strong commercial acumen and deal-making skills
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building abilities
  • Proficiency with CRM software
  • Articulate with a confident telephone manner and focused listening skills
  • Exceptional customer service standards
  • Self-motivated and able to work collaboratively
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% when face-to-face meetings resume
