Job description

Position Summary

Summit Truck Body has served the commercial truck and transportation industry in the Pacific Northwest for over 35 years, specializing in building and upfitting dry vans, flatbeds, and refrigerated vans. In 2021, Summit expanded by acquiring a Seattle-area service center, which repairs and refinishes all makes and models of medium, heavy-duty, specialty, and fleet vehicles.

Our Sales Coordinator plays a vital role in coordinating sales activities and supporting the sales team to deliver an industry-leading customer experience. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, interpersonal savvy, advanced communication skills, initiative, and a collaborative spirit. The Sales Coordinator must have strong problem-solving and prioritization abilities, a keen eye for detail and accuracy, and a willingness to manage diverse responsibilities, including parts-related tasks. This role is essential to achieving Summit’s long-term strategic goals.

Responsibilities
  • Fully administer and monitor corporate programs such as bailment pools and other direct-to-manufacturer relationships.
  • Act as the primary backup for the territory salespeople for quoting and customer communication when they are unavailable.
  • Act as the liaison between the outside sales team and operations when system information is unclear or incomplete.
  • Coordinate delivery of vehicles to and from customers. Establish and maintain relationships with drive-away providers and work to establish secondary sources where possible.
  • Review and update Summit’s Customer Relationship Manager (CRM). Provide training to territory salespeople and ensure CRM standards are followed.
  • Process verified quotes and create production orders.
  • Coordinate the movement of chassis in various stages of completion between third party vendors.
  • Manage communication regarding production schedule and stages of completion for major fleet orders, stocking dealers, and similar high-volume customers.
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure sales, marketing, customer inquiries and deliveries are handled efficiently and seamlessly for our customers.
  • Assist with the creation and execution of marketing efforts.
  • Monitor and communicate budgets for salesperson expenses. Submit monthly expense reports to the Director of Sales for approval.
Parts Responsibilities
  • Learn company parts and parts process.
  • Handle parts sales inquiries from customers and generate quotes.
  • Process parts quotes into invoices and submit to the material handling team for packaging and shipment.
  • Assist the Sr. Executive of Special Projects with other tasks as requested.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent. College level education preferred.
  • Direct or indirect manufacturing and/or similar industry experience is preferred.
  • Skilled at communicating information verbally and in writing so others clearly understand.
  • Exceptional customer service skills; proactive and committed to following through to completion.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational efficiency.
  • Self-directed, displays curiosity and seeks opportunities to learn.
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Access database, ERP and CRM software.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Demonstrates honesty and integrity in all business practices.
  • Ability and interest in working in a fast-paced and changing environment.

This position is varied office/desk oriented with intermittent physical shop/yard work. Office work includes working on a computer, using the phone, and attending meetings with the operations team. This position interacts routinely with floor activities and is also exposed to factory noise, forklift traffic, and occasional exposure to wet conditions, vibration, and fumes or airborne particles. On rare occasions there may be a need to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs. Stooping, bending, twisting, climbing ladders and standing for periods of time may occasionally be required.

Work Hours

The normal workweek is 40-45 hours, with the expectation that the employee will flex their work hours as required in support of the local management team. The Sales Coordinator is encouraged to be visible to all employees.

Compensation

Starting from $25/hour + DOE. Health/dental/life insurance, paid vacation, 401K, and ESOP participation.
