Job summary

Decatur Forsyth Residence Inn by Marriott in Forsyth, IL seeks an Assistant Sales Manager to support planning and administering sales policies and programs that foster hotel patronage.

Key duties include following Sales Manager directions, pursuing new leads, developing marketing plans, and coordinating meeting room details for groups and events.

Qualifications

• Prefer 1+ year of experience in hotel front desk or sales.
• Brand experience preferred but not required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Strong Prospecting and Networking Skills.
• Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software and internet.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow Sales Manager direction in booking and pursuing business.
• Find new leads through tele-prospecting and internet research on market/industry trends.
• Assist Sales Manager in developing and maintaining marketing plan and sales budget.
• Engage and follow up with guests to ensure guest had a good experience.
• Ensure meeting rooms are set, organized, and clean for negotiated groups, clients, and/or as show room.
• Coordinate with all groups or clients any meeting room details to include set up, catering requirements, and/or audio visual needs.
• Ensure that all events have a proper form of payment.
• Receive guest feedback, look for new business and build loyalty to existing business.
• Followup with the group or clients after each event for future booking.
• Organizes, maintains, and tracks sales data.
• Completes requests of Sales Manager and other management personnel, as applicable.
• Follow‑up as needed in Sales Manager’s absence.
• All other duties as assigned.
