Job description

Join our Ricart Buick GMC Chevrolet team located in the North Columbus area. Ricart Automotive has been Columbus' Top Place to Work since 2013! Responsibilities:

  1. Sells used vehicles while achieving and maintaining appropriate levels of gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction.

What We Need From You Job Duties and Requirements:

  1. Approaches, greets and offers assistance or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot.
  2. Assists customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses. Suggest alternative vehicles if necessary.
  3. Provides thorough product information and demonstration to all prospects.
  4. Offers test drives to all prospects. Follows dealership procedure to obtain proper identification from customer before test drive begins.
  5. Exhibits a high level of commitment to customer satisfaction.
  6. Utilizes dealership sales control and follow-up system.
  7. Knows and understands the federal, state and local laws which govern retail auto sales.
  8. Establishes personal income goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity, and devises a strategy to meet those goals.
  9. Knows and understands equity and values, and is able to explain depreciation to the customer.
  10. Ensures that the sales manager has an opportunity to meet each customer.
  11. Turns 100 percent of closed deals to finance and insurance manager and presents properly completed paperwork (i.e., insurance information, trade title etc.).
  12. Prepares sold vehicles for customer delivery (i.e., cleans vehicles, fills gas tank and ensures all features are operational) prior to customer arrival.
  13. Delivers vehicles to customers, ensuring that the customer understands the vehicle's operating features, warranty and paperwork.
  14. Introduces customers to service department personnel to emphasize to them the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership's service department.
  15. Schedules first service appointment.
  16. Follow up on all post-delivery items, tag/title work, “we-owes,” and special requests to be sure that all customer expectations are met.
  17. Maintains an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction.
  18. Maintains a prospect development and follow-up system.
  19. Works with the service department and body shop to ensure that vehicles are properly reconditioned on schedule.
  20. Attends sales meetings.
  21. Helps with the used-vehicle inspection process.
  22. Writes complete sales orders and processes paperwork in accordance with established dealership policies.
  23. Reviews and analyzes actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectively.
  24. Other tasks as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with less than 6 points to remain insurable and able to drive on company property.
  2. High school education or equivalent.
  3. Ability to drive a manual vehicle preferred, but not required.
  4. Must be able to walk around/stand for long periods.
  5. Understands the terminology of the automobile business and keeps abreast of changes in product technology, incoming inventory, features, accessories etc.
