General Summary

The Compensation Analyst is a field-facing role responsible for maintaining high-quality relationships across the sales organization. This individual will gather data, conduct analysis, and make risk-based decisions to ensure profitability and compliance. They will also support and guide all levels of the sales team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Explain contractual agreements and provisions related to commissions and compliance to partners, making recommendations or decisions based on bonus, compensation, and sales crediting guidelines.
  • Make risk-based financial decisions interpreting data on sales credit, compensation plans, and compliance, negotiating to ensure profitability.
  • Explain Colonial Life’s enrollment capabilities and submission processes, including impacts on Service Operations, Underwriting, and Growth Markets, and how these affect commissions.
  • Build strong relationships with the sales organization and home office partners to foster growth.
  • Promote a culture of positive customer service by supporting the sales team and partners.
  • Assist all levels of the sales organization in understanding and using apps and tools for viewing and tracking commissions, bonuses, and sales.
  • Manage account-level commission adjustments, applying contractual and financial principles to ensure accurate impact assessments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • One or more years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer operations, Microsoft software, virtual communication, and general technology.
  • Ability to understand Colonial Life’s sales organization, including compensation plans, incentive programs, and contracts.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels, including senior management.
  • Clear, concise, and professional presentation of information.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Customer-focused, with a supportive approach to sales growth and incentives.
  • Strong coordination, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative and a strong work ethic.
