DUTIES
  • Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge, and help with selection of merchandise.
  • React quickly to customer concerns with a sense of importance.
  • Sell merchandise and provide outstanding customer service, including demonstration and explanation of technical features.
  • Take periodic stock counts, participate in inventories, replenish stock, and maintain merchandise in neat, presentable condition.
  • Advise supervisor or department head of customer requests.
  • Receive cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards, and gift cards; give accurate change; operate cash register.
  • Maintain record of sales, balance till at end of shift, turn in sales records and money, account for all monies and items sold.
  • Perform price changes (markdowns or markups) and set company promotions, ensuring proper display, signage, and item labeling.
  • Follow all policies regarding Loss Prevention and be aware of shrink and the Alert Line.
  • Follow all established safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.
  • Required to work weekends.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Potential to stock merchandise, assist patrons, and operate a cash register—demonstrated by ability to read, comprehend, and explain product literature; count, subtract, multiply, and divide for stocking and inventory purposes (evidence of high school coursework, GED, or high school diploma).
  • Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous retail merchandising or cashier experience.
Other Essential Information
  • Residency Requirements: Non‑U.S. nationals, authorized to work in the U.S. and applying for any DHS position, must have resided within the United States or U.S. territories for at least three of the last five years.
  • Selectee must participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer for payroll and travel purposes.
