Job Overview
Join our team as a Sales Clerk serving the brave men and women of the military and their families. In this dynamic role you will provide exceptional customer service, assist with product selection, and ensure a smooth shopping experience for customers.
DUTIES
- Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge, and help with merchandise selection.
- React promptly to all customer concerns with a sense of importance.
- Sell merchandise and provide outstanding customer service, including demonstration and explanation of technical features.
- Take periodic stock counts and participate in inventory activities.
- Replenish stock and maintain merchandise in a neat, presentable condition.
- Advise the supervisor or department head of customer requests.
- Receive cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards, and gift cards, give accurate change, and operate the cash register.
- Maintain sales records, balance the till at the end of shifts, and account for all monies and items sold.
- Perform price changes for various departments (mark‑downs, mark‑ups) and set company promotions, ensuring proper display and signage.
- Follow all policies regarding Loss Prevention and be proactive about shrink and the Alert Line.
- Follow all established safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.
- Required to work weekends.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Minimum
- Potential to stock merchandise, assist patrons, and operate a cash register, demonstrated through high school coursework, a GED, or high school diploma.
- Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds, and to stand for long periods of time.
Preferred
- Previous retail merchandising or cashier experience.
