Job summary

Lavender Bakery & Cafe on Solano Ave in Berkeley is hiring experienced Sales & Barista L2 staff to be the face of the neighborhood bakery. You will make espresso drinks, manage custom cake pickups, take phone and online orders, and energize the front counter.

You will welcome customers, handle in-store and online orders, run the register, and help train newer baristas. The role is part-time with opportunities for growth into shift lead roles.

Qualifications

• Food business experience required (restaurant, cafe, bakery, or coffee shop).
• Espresso skills: can pull a shot and steam milk.
• Weekend availability required.
• Available for 70% of major holidays.
• Spanish or French language ability is a plus.
• Familiarity with Square POS.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers at the front counter and outdoor seating area.
• Take in-store orders for coffee, pastries, store cakes and custom cake pickups.
• Handle phone orders and online pre-order pickup.
• Multitask across in-store, phone, and online orders simultaneously.
