Job summary

Churchill's Hardware in Cameron Park, CA is seeking sales associates to provide outstanding customer service, keep the sales floor clean, and help customers select the right home improvement products.

As a team member you will learn about products, master the POS system, and participate in add-on sales while upholding company values and ensuring a friendly, helpful shopping experience for every customer.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently while stocking the store or fulfilling customer requests.
• Strong communication and ability to follow store procedures.
• Willing and able to learn about products and how they work together.
• Team player capable of supporting cashier and other roles as needed.
• Flexible availability including evenings, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and offer help upon entering the store and in different areas.
• Keep store clean and organized for a great shopping experience.
• Become an expert at the POS System and assist in checkout.
• Create and generate add-on sales to boost store performance.
• Accurately enroll customers in the rewards program and explain benefits.
• Maintain confidentiality of all customers' information.
• Stock shelves and process deliveries from freight.
• Answer phone calls and provide customer service over the phone.
• Help customers locate the right products for their projects.
• Improve sales and customer connections; support multiple departments as needed.
• Be the cashier when needed; handle transactions, returns, and special orders.
• Attend to regular and predictable attendance as essential.
• Create customer connections to encourage future visits.
• Learn to pump propane and cut keys as required by store operations.

Job Summary:

Sales associates are expected to maintain a positive representation of Churchill Hardware by providing an outstanding customer service experience consistent with company values. The main task of a team member is to assist customers and maintain a clean and efficient sales floor. They should be willing to continually learn and expand their knowledge of the retail industry. Their job will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

• Boost overall sales by closing the sale and promoting the store’s loyalty program and add-on sales.
• Continually expand knowledge of all departments in the store.
• Become a versatile employee, able to help in other areas when needed.
• Take a personal interest in products sold in the store and gain the knowledge to make new products and merchandising recommendations to management.
• After enough experience, become a mentor to new employees and help them understand products and retail concepts.
