Job summary

CU Hawai'i is expanding in Hawai‘i and seeks friendly Sales Associates for multiple Honolulu locations. As a part-time team member you will greet customers, operate the register, and help maintain food quality and clean, inviting stores.

You’ll learn CU’s brands, support promotions, stock shelves, follow safety rules, and assist with opening and closing duties. Previous retail or foodservice experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older to handle age-restricted product sales.
• Positive and customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Food handler’s certification required before first shift.
• Flexible and open availability for part-time positions.

We’re looking for dedicated and friendly team members for our downtown, Kapahulu and Kahala locations and to help grow CU Hawai'i as we open additional locations.

Job Summary
Store Associates are the heart of CU Hawai‘i, responsible for delivering excellent customer service by maintaining our high standards for welcoming customers, ensuring food quality, fast checkouts, providing a fun & safe environment and consistent cleanliness. Store Associates also keep shelves full, ensure food safety standards are met, and enhance the CU brand with the aloha spirit.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

• Welcome all customers with a friendly, positive attitude and assist with purchases.
• Educate customers on CU's unique brands and fun food experiences.
• Handle all customer transactions at the point-of-sale register and promote CU rewards programs.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve issues in a professional manner.

Food & Beverage

• Prepare and stock food and beverages following CU safety and quality standards.
• Follow food safety procedures and health code requirements.
• Maintain consistent cleanliness and readiness of all food service equipment and areas.
• Monitor food and beverage supplies and keep shelves and supplies full for our customers.

Stocking & Inventory

• Receive, check, and stock merchandise according to CU stocking checklists.
• Ensure proper rotation, labeling, FIFO and placement of dry and fresh products.
• Support pre-stocking, stocking, and inventory verification processes.
• Monitor suppliers to ensure consistent product availability and quality.
• Ensure all displays, signage, promos and marketing are accurate, posted and damage-free.

Store Maintenance

• Maintain store cleanliness and safety.
• Perform daily opening, mid-day and closing duties per CU operations checklist.
• Quickly respond to and remove any spills or trip hazards.

Compliance

• Adhere to CU Hawai‘i policies and procedures, including permits and licenses compliance.
• Follow operational checklists for health and safety readiness.
• Able to handle and sell alcohol and any age restricted items as permitted by law. Must follow all laws regarding the handling and selling of age restricted items.

Qualifications

• Must be age 18 years or older to handle age-restricted product sales
• Positive and customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to stand for extended periods, bend, reach and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Basic math and communication skills.
• Food handler’s certification (required before first shift).
• Previous experience in retail, cashiering, or foodservice preferred but not required.
• Flexible and open availability for full-time positions.
