Job summary

Kenny Queen Hardware is looking for friendly Cashier and Sales Associates to deliver fast, helpful service to customers in Ashland, Kentucky. You will engage shoppers, determine their needs, process transactions, and help with product recommendations.

As part of the sales team, you will restock and organize displays, assist with large items, participate in daily huddles, and uphold a neat appearance while wearing the store vest and name tag. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication with customers.
• Ability to handle cash, credit, and returns accurately.
• Willingness to stand for long periods and lift up to 80 pounds.

Job DescriptionCashier and Sales Associates/Customer Service StaffCustomer Service staff include store cashiers and sales associates and are responsible for maintaining positive customer relationships by handling questions and concerns with speed and professionalism ensuring the customers have a positive experience and foster loyalty to the Kenny Queen Hardware and Supply, Inc brand. Providing our customers with helpful, fast, and friendly service is critical for frontline customer service staff. Answering questions about our products and services, processing orders and transactions, resolving issues and troubleshooting problems, effectively handling customer complaints, and cultivating partnerships are paramount to our success.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESSales AssociatesProvide prompt and courteous customer service by engaging the customer, determining their needs, and suggesting project requirements. Be attentive, polite and smile.Help unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise as arranged by management.Execute daily operational goals and priorities with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.Cooperative as a part of the team by sharing ideas for process improvement with Management.Restock merchandise displays, mix paint, cut keys, remove promotional bin tags from displays and price tags as required following sales events.Handle transfers and special orders for all non-stock items.Clean, neaten and organize products as assigned.Demonstrate the S.A.L.E.S. processAssist customers with simple complaints/concerns; get a manager involved with problems as needed.Promote the Ace Rewards program to all customers.Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertising to inform customers about special sales and events.Assist customers with large or heavy items as needed.Actively participate in store communications, initiatives, and daily huddle.Assist in the training and development of peers.Maintain a neat and professional personal appearance. Immediately notify management of any inaccuracies.Precisely and accurately handle money, checks, and other types of payment received for products sold including processing refunds and/or issuing store merchandise credit.Perform credit card transactions, manufacturer coupon redemption, personal check acceptance, vendor check-in transactions in accordance with company standards and policies.Greet customers entering the store and thank them for shopping with us upon their exit.Answer the phone using a polite and helpful demeanor. Transfer calls to the appropriate department.Be knowledgeable and actively participate in all sales promotions and campaigns. Engage customer to ensure they are receiving all the benefits of being an Ace Rewards member and actively recruit participants by informing and enrolling new customers in the program.Practice suggestive selling and build customer relations.Address customer complaints in a helpful, positive manner.Face front and dust merchandise near register area and perform regular cleaning of counter surfaces and equipment.Actively participate in store communications, initiatives, and daily huddle.Assist in the training and development of peers.Maintain a neat and professional personal appearance.
