Job summary

Tinklenberg Lumber & Hardware of Edgerton Inc. is seeking a part-time Sales Associate to join our hardware store team in Edgerton. The role supports customers on the floor and over the phone, helps with merchandising, and assists with routine store tasks.

Expect 2-3 weekdays and every other Saturday shifts. You will greet customers, guide them to merchandise, handle special orders when needed, restock, and maintain clean displays.

Qualifications

• A customer-first mindset with a positive, professional attitude.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to learn product knowledge across all departments.
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to think independently to solve problems.
• Basic understanding of sales techniques and willingness to grow those skills.
• Ability to use point-of-sale systems for price lookup, special orders, and order entry.
• Solid math, reading, and writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist them in finding merchandise, answering questions, and offering helpful product suggestions.
• Provide knowledgeable support both in-store and over the phone, including helping with special orders when needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting sales floor through regular housekeeping and merchandising tasks.
• Restock shelves, follow planograms, and ensure signage is accurate and easy to read.
• Face and front products throughout the day to keep displays neat and customer-ready.
• Assist customers with loading products into their vehicles when needed.
• Take part in regular inventory counts to help maintain accurate stock levels.
• Cut keys for customers and learn additional store services as you grow in the role.
• Support team members with a variety of tasks to keep the store running efficiently.
