Job summary

Aquaflo in Santa Barbara, California, is looking for a dedicated Sales Associate to provide over-the-counter sales and exceptional customer service. You'll determine customer needs, provide product advice, and manage sales orders efficiently.

Aqua-Flo Supply is a leading regional distributor of landscape, irrigation and utilities products. We supply these products to contractors, municipalities, gardeners and homeowners, and pride ourselves on exceptional customer service and product technical knowledge. Every Aqua-Flo Supply team member is an important part of this mission.

Position

This position provides over-the-counter sales to customers that includes determining customer needs, providing product advice, writing and recording the sale, and pulling the products for the order. This position requires ongoing independent study of manufacturer’s products and applications to maintain current technical knowledge of all product lines.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive and greet walk-in customers and determine their needs for solutions or products
• Ring up customers with knowledge of all item classes and basic product knowledge
• Perform basic quoting
• Receive telephone and email orders and prepare those orders for will-call or delivery
• Perform basic inside sales calls on orders, quotes and customer lists
• Maintain cleanliness of sales floor and counter areas
• Perform warehouse duties
• Perform delivery driver duties on occasion

Requirements

• Experience: High volume retail or wholesale sales experience a plus.
• Education: High School or GED
• Landscape, irrigation and utility knowledge is a plus.
• Positive / Professional / Problem solver
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license required with a clean driving record.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
