The University of Utah Museum Store is seeking a Sales Associate to help ensure every guest has a meaningful visit. You will be trained on the museum, products, and proper cash handling to support sales and reporting.

Greet guests, assist with product knowledge, and provide accurate information about the museum and campus. This part-time position requires weekend availability and some holidays, with a variable schedule.

Qualifications

• Equivalency: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience.
• Department may hire at Cashier I or Cashier II with related experience.

Responsabilités

• Meet and greet guests in a friendly, courteous manner as a museum ambassador.
• Be knowledgeable about artists and products and share information with guests.
• Provide accurate information about the museum, campus and area.
• Follow procedures for opening/closing, ringing sales, cash handling and end-of-shift reconciliation.
• Keep the store organized and presentable, dust and straighten shelves, stock the floor, and maintain neat cash wrap.
• Support the overall mission of the museum.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary

This position ensures that every guest to the Museum Store has animpactful experience. Knowledge of the museum, products, and properprocedures including ringing sales, cash handling, and reports iscrucial to this position. The main goal of this position is toincrease sales to help support the museum.

Responsibilities

• 1 - Meet and greet all guests and staff in a friendly and courteousmanner. You are an ambassador of the museum.
• 2 - All Sales Associates are knowledgeable about the artists andproducts we carry in the store and enthusiastically offer thisinformation to our guests.
• 3 - Provide accurate and updated information to guests about themuseum, campus and surrounding area.
• 4 - Must follow proper procedures for opening and closing thestore, running the registers, cash handling, and end of shiftreconciliation.
• 5 - Maintain an organized and clean store. Help to keep the storepresentable including dusting, straightening the sales floor,stocking the sales floor, making sure all signs are in order andkeeping the cash wrap area neat.
• 6 - Must support the overall mission of the museum.
• 7 - Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher educationcan be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience(Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related workexperience).

Department may hire employee at one of the following joblevels:

• Cashier, I: Requires little to no relatedexperience.
• Cashier, II: Requires at least 1 year of relatedexperience.
