We're looking for a Sales Associate to help us push the boundaries of what aviation software can offer through the power of technology. As a Sales Associate, you will work closely with a Regional Sales Manager who will mentor and support your professional development while helping you build a successful career in software sales. You will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and managing sales opportunities within your assigned territory, with an initial focus on small business customers (10 users or fewer).
Through a consultative sales approach, you will learn how to understand customer business objectives, demonstrate AvSight's suite of products and services, and deliver solutions that provide measurable value. As your experience and skills grow, you will take on increased responsibility.
This position is ideally based in Phoenix, Arizona. Candidates located in other areas of the Western United States may also be considered based on qualifications.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Working alongside your Regional Sales Manager to develop sales skills and manage opportunities throughout the sales cycle.
- Prospecting for new business opportunities through outbound outreach, networking, referrals, marketing campaigns, and industry events.
- Making prospecting a routine activity by consistently adding qualified opportunities to your sales pipeline.
- Qualifying inbound and outbound leads through discovery conversations.
- Conducting online sales presentations and product demonstrations.
- Preparing proposals and assisting customers through the evaluation and purchasing process.
- Performing onsite visits as needed with prospective customers and current accounts.
- Participating in local aviation networking events.
- Attending industry trade shows and conferences.
- Meeting and exceeding established sales quotas while developing the knowledge and skills needed to successfully manage increasingly complex sales opportunities.
- Delivering a highly accurate sales forecast, both short and long term.
- Participating in regular coaching sessions, sales call reviews, and joint customer meetings with your Regional Sales Manager to accelerate professional development.
- Continually learning about new products and improving selling skills by attending training events throughout the year, participating in self-paced learning, and applying product knowledge to customer conversations.
- Becoming proficient with Salesforce and effectively utilizing CRM tools to maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and customer activity.
- Keeping up to date on competitors, competitive positioning, and industry trends to identify new opportunities.
- Effectively leveraging Solution Engineering, Marketing, Professional Services, Customer Success, Finance, and Product resources throughout the sales cycle.
- Accurately utilizing sales tools and technology to ensure weekly and monthly activity metrics are met.
- Developing positive relationships with employees across Solution Engineering, Marketing, Support, Finance, Product Deployment, and other departments as needed.
- Collaborating with colleagues and supporting the overall team effort within the sales organization to ensure knowledge and expertise are shared across the team.
The Candidate:
Required skills/qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in business development, software sales, account management, customer success, or another customer-facing role.
- Aviation aftermarket experience (MRO, distribution, repair management, surplus parts, etc.) is preferred but not required.
- Salesforce experience or comparable CRM experience for managing leads, opportunities, and customer interactions.
- Ability to manage multiple sales opportunities simultaneously.
- Effective communication style with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build rapport and develop long-lasting customer relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies and business processes quickly.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn, accept coaching, and continuously improve.
- High energy, a competitive sales drive, and a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to travel for customer meetings, trade shows, and company events as needed.
