Job summary

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC seeks a friendly associate to greet customers, demonstrate products, and guide them through the buying process. You will learn customer needs with open-ended questions and provide accurate product knowledge to make shopping memorable.

You will also take orders in person and by phone, including large client orders, assist solo shifts when needed, and balance cash while delivering outstanding service to every guest.

Qualifications

• Reliability and punctuality for shifts.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Willingness to enforce store policies and assist solo duties when needed.
• Positive attitude and strong customer focus.
• Comfort with in-person and phone order taking.

Position Responsibilities-

• Greeting & interacting with all types of customers
• Showcasing our amazing products & teaching our visitors how to shop our store by leading them through the buying process
• Asking open-ended questions while conversing with the customers so you can learn what their needs are
• Making the shopping experience memorable by providing correct, helpful, and instant knowledge of our product
• Going above and beyond the service expectations of the customers during every interaction
• Helping the customers add to their gifts or take-home purchases by using suggestive selling techniques
• Thanking the customer for their purchase no matter how small
• Taking orders correctly & completely in person & over the phone, including Large Client Orders.
• Leading your team in the absence of managers which includes: running the shift, delegating duties, & preparing the store for the next shift.
• Cash handling, counting down, and balancing the cash drawers at close &/or open. Taking care of customer issues and troubleshooting issues on the spot.

Requirements

Position Requirements-

Required:

• Reliable Transportation
• Positive Attitude and Disposition
• Ability to be on your feet at least 8hrs at a time
• Lift at least 25lbs
• Adhering to Uniform Policy & Attendance Policy. Enforce said policies with co-workers
• Must be comfortable being in and running the store solo on occasion

Preferred:

• Knowledge of Appropriate Phone Etiquette
• Extensive Teamwork Experience & Leadership
