Job summary

Total Wine & More in Baton Rouge, LA is hiring Store Team Members to deliver exceptional customer service and drive sales by advising customers on products. You will greet shoppers and build relationships, offering a personalized experience and product knowledge through ongoing training.

Qualifications

About the Role

All Store Team Members play an essential role in building the company brand by delivering excellent customer service. They provide service and drive sales by engaging with customers and advising them on products. The role focuses primarily on sales responsibilities, but may also include merchandising, front‑end, or other duties as required. Internally referred to as Service Team Member, they report to the store management team.

Worker Type: Regular. Pay Range: $13.78 - $19.29 hourly.

Responsibilities

• Maximize product inventory, including processing freight, organizing and distributing inventory, pulling and stocking merchandise, building displays and end caps, placing signage, and supporting digital business operations by fulfilling orders and assisting with in‑store and curbside pick‑up and delivery services, including driving and making deliveries if assigned.
• Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers, engaging to build relationships, and informing about products and services.
• Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge.
• Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment.
• Complete cross‑functional responsibilities as assigned and perform other duties as assigned.
• Load and deliver orders in a safe and professional manner, following company policies and procedures and abiding by all traffic and safety laws – if delivery is added as an essential job function.

Seasonal Consideration

If this job posting is coded as a seasonal role, the position will be short‑term, no longer than six months, with the option to apply for a non‑seasonal role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• 1–3 years of work experience, including 1+ year in a retail setting (preferred).
• Familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8–10 hours a day.
• Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets.
• Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead repeatedly.
• May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday.
