Job summary

Carpenter Bros Hardware Do It Center in Michigan is seeking a friendly Sales Associate to provide outstanding service and help customers with projects.

You will maintain a clean sales floor, assist on the phone, suggest add-on sales, manage quick loading, and support teamwork while continually learning about products.

This role emphasizes reliability, product knowledge, and a pro-active approach to customer needs in a local, community-focused hardware store.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers in person and on the phone, answering questions, helping them find merchandise, and suggesting add-on sales.
• Create an inviting environment by maintaining a clean and orderly sales floor, including housekeeping tasks.
• Notify customers of upcoming promotions and new products.
• Assist with loading products into customers' vehicles as needed.
• Merchandise products according to prescribed planograms and help maintain signage.
• Restock shelves as necessary.
• Assist in taking regular inventory of stock.
• Face and front products at the start and end of the shift, and as time permits.
• Help store staff with other tasks as needed.
• Be vigilant to identify shoplifters and follow store policy.
• Attend all staff meetings.
• Adhere to all store policies and safety standards.
• Be able to cut keys for customers.

Job Summary:

Sales associates are expected to maintain a positive representation of Carpenter Bros Hardware Do It Center by providing an outstanding customer service experience consistent with company values. The main task of a sales associate is to assist customers and maintain a clean and efficient sales floor. They should be willing to continually learn and expand their knowledge of the retail industry. Their job will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Create an inviting environment for customers by maintaining a clean and orderly sales floor, including housekeeping tasks.
