The Sales Assistant assists the Branch Manager (BM) and/or Financial Advisors (FA) in the establishment and maintenance of accounts that are current to prospective clients. Within their level of experience, licensing and registration, handle routine transactions and account relationships while supporting the assigned BM and/or FAs. Provide the highest quality of service to every customer.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Support assigned BM and/or FAs by reviewing and submitting account paperwork to Broker/Dealer and/or annuity and mutual fund companies for processing and creating client files. Maintain appropriate records as required for all transactions. Follow through to confirm all elements of a transaction are successfully implemented.
  • Answer telephone calls and respond to customer requests and service issues. Research customer account issues including account errors, name and address changes, dividend payment modes, and status of securities.
  • Assist BM and/or FAs with coordination of business plan elements for prospecting to secure new clients such as coordinating strategic partner seminars or branch meetings and regular and consistent communications such as direct mail campaigns and scheduling review meetings to help retain existing clients.
  • Complete all required continuing education such as Bank, Broker/Dealer, and regulatory agencies on time to keep all licenses and Broker/Dealer status current.
  • Perform general clerical duties including typing of general correspondence, making copies, ordering supplies, filing and other special assignments, and projects as assigned.
  • Complete continuing education as required by professional designations and to meet licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Refer clients to other bank services.
  • Understand, report, respond to, manage, and monitor the risk encountered daily as required by First Community Bank’s Risk Management Program.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory laws and Company policies and procedures.
  • Complete training, as assigned, within the expected timeframes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent education and work related experience preferred
  • Two years of related experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven record of delivering outstanding customer service
  • Demonstrated proficiency using common office software and systems
  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to travel, occasionally overnight
  • The salary range is based on market data associated with the position and where the pay rate falls within the range is commensurate with experience, education, and other qualifications.

Salary Description
$16.14 - $21.83/hour - Salary Grade 3*
