Job summary

FOSS in Minnesota is seeking a Sales Applications Specialist to provide technical and application expertise for NIR, FTIR, and Wet Chemistry solutions in food and agriculture. You will support the sales team through pre- and post-sales activities, delivering demos, feasibility studies, and method development to help customers evaluate and implement analytics.

You will train customers, troubleshoot solutions, and collaborate with internal teams to meet customer needs while contributing to FOSS's

Qualifications

• 5+ years with analytical instrumentation (NIR, FTIR, or Wet Chemistry) in food/agriculture.
• Experience with sample testing, feasibility studies, and method development.
• Strong skills in statistics, chemometrics, and model development.
• Ability to support customers & sales through demos, presentations, and technical expertise.

What you will be doing

The Sales Applications Specialist supports the sales team by providing technical and application expertise for NIR and FTIR spectroscopy and Wet Chemistry solutions in the food and agriculture industries. This role plays a key part in both pre & post sales activities to ensure customers successfully evaluate, implement, and use their analytical solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform sample testing, feasibility studies, and proof-of-concept analyses
• Deliver technical presentations, product demos, and customer engagements to support sales
• Provide pre-sales guidance on solutions, applications, and technical capabilities
• Support post-sales implementation, including setup and method development
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance customer analytical solutions
• Train customers in instrumentation calibration and best practices
• Collaborate with internal teams on applications, calibration, and customer needs

Yearly base salary range: $80,000-$90,000 USD + benefits
